Yasmine’s world breaks apart, when she finds her fiancé in bed with another. Shattered, she flees LA and escapes to her second home—her sister’s Key West bed and breakfast. She bumps into her childhood friend Hawk, who went from the chubby boy-next-door to a certified millionaire hottie. Her instincts tell her to run. Even Hawk warns her.

All grown up, they’re now opposites—light and darkness, fire and ice, sunshine and cold shadows. She’s on a voyage to heal her heart with yoga and google spells, while Hawk battles his demons with art and meaningless sex. Years ago, he discovered that his wife was a murderer and his marriage a lie. For Hawk, there’s no hope for a normal life. His mind is too broken. His faith in humanity as dead as his ex-wife’s victims.

Heartbreak is like death. Both strip away the soul and leave the body as an empty shell.

But the universe has its surprises, and as breezy days go by, Hawk and Yasmine’s kinship in pain shifts from friendship to hungry lust. And although they battle against it, there’s an intense passion bridging between them that they can’t ignore.

Along a sparkling blue ocean and white sandy beaches, HEARTBREAK HOTEL unfolds into a steamy story about the beautiful ways love can repair the soul.

Heartbreak Author bio

Kenya Wright wrote her first novel during her third year at UM Law school. She dropped out a month after the release and never looked back.

Words are power, and Kenya wants to be the greatest wizard that ever lived.

It’s an audacity to inspire and teach the healing of love through arousal.

It’s this crazy idea that love can not only help a reader escape, but the story can also teach the person about being human, while making them laugh, cry, and hot for more sex.

I hope you enjoyed the first part of the Release Blitz for Heartbreak Hotel, as I will be posting the second and last half tomorrow that includes the review. Wasn’t the cover just amazing? I mean, those eyes! They are a very accurate portrayal of what I thought Hawk had. The first teaser is pretty close to how I envisioned Yaz too, so that makes me happy. ❤  I think y’all will love this book, it is amazing and I adore it!

Until next time lovelies ! Muah !  

As soon as I heard about this book I wanted to read it, I just didn’t get the chance to buy it until this last christmas. I didn’t start to read it until this month and I don’t understand what the hell took me so long to pick it up! The story is gripping and peculiar as soon as you start it and you don’t want to set it down even for a moment. Not even to go eat something, I would just sit there for hours and read it fascinated with Rachel and how she was trying to figure out things. I was trying to fill in the gaps with her.

Each place you are taken within this book is dark, chilling and sinister. You really don’t see it coming. When you’re reading The Girl On The Train, you can’t really be sure who is completely innocent and that is thrilling in itself. You kind of wonder what each character has done and you don’t really know until the end of the book. Honestly, some of the characters are more of a mystery than anything so you just kind of wonder about them in the end.

This book just reminds me when something horrifying happens and it’s gory but you just can’t look away. You just can’t help yourself and stare at the scene. That’s how the book is. It’s darkly addictive and it’ll have you obsessing over it, especially from the betrayals that come close to home. Not everything is as it seems… or is it?

So have any of you read this? What did you think? Did you see the movie? I actually saw the movie before I was able to get the book. Let’s chat!

I had this book for I don’t know how long and finally got around to reading it and it was definitely a page-turner. Vee is normally the one in the shadows pulling the strings to make the show run but she decided she’s over that. So she does something that is out of character for herself and goes through with a dare for the online game show called NERVE. Basically, there are dares that NERVE comes up with and people do them for prizes while others watch and film. The people who do the dares are the players and the people who make sure that they do the dares and film them are the watchers.

The players get certain prizes for each dare that they do. The problem with that is that as the players keep playing the game, the dares get harder and more and more sinister. Suddenly, the game and the people behind it know your secrets and about all the shit you don’t want them to know. Suddenly, you as the player are trapped and you don’t know who you can trust and who you can’t. You don’t feel safe anywhere you go. Remember, watchers are everywhere. Everyone. Before you know it, the game turns possibly deadly, but no one believes it because it is just a game… right?

This book was really intense and interesting and I really loved that about it. It was dark and intriguing and had a Lord Of The Flies vibe to it. It was like even though this was about teenagers, you can still see that darkness, disaster and ugliness can come from someone at any age. It showed what could be the downfall of us all. In that of itself, makes Jeanne a genius for writing this.

It just goes to show that we do put too much on the internet. It is just scary how it all can be used against us like it was used against Vee. You never think that anything you put out there can cause problems, but it can and sometimes it will. I kind of feel like this was wrote as a lesson for our generation that puts everything on the internet without so much as thinking, but I don’t really know if the young adults will see it that way. I mean, sure this book is fiction but I could see something like this happening possibly in the future when teens get bored with what’s happening around them and they want risk or danger. The thought is just kind of scary.

I wish that there would have been more development of the characters. I really would have like to know more about their backstories. Especially Ian’ s and Vee’s backgrounds as well as Abigail’s. Whatever happened to her? Just kind of leaves you wondering about her and I would really like to know. I want to know more about Ian and his life. What was the meaning behind his prizes? I don’t know I just feel like Ian and Vee were still kind of mystery characters to me at the end of the book which left me unsatisfied.  I feel like those little kids on that commercial saying “I want more, I want more”.

Which leads me to the ending of the book. OH! That ending, though!!! Everything seems like it is all fine and dandy and then all of the sudden… WHAM!! You get smacked with what you know isn’t good but it’s the last fucking sentence. Now you really want more because… what just happened? What THE FUCK just happened? Like can we get a rewind here? Okay I would like to say that if there is not a sequel so we know what happens next then I am going to be wondering for the rest of my life. What the actual hell?

So do you think you have the NERVE to read Nerve?

Book Haul From Two Places (Yeah, That’s Right)

Okay so I got these four lovelies from two different places. The first set I got from The Dollar Tree and the second set of books my mom got me from a book event in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

The first book I got from The Dollar Tree :

The Queen of the Night by [Chee, Alexander]

So this one I just loved the cover, so I had to see what the story was about and it just fascinated me. It just kind of reminded me of The Phantom of the Opera even though I have never read that but have heard of it. Sadly, I was made to watch the movie in school as an assignment so I don’t have the pleasure of reading it first, but I would like to someday when I get my hands on a copy.

The second book from The Dollar Tree:

I know, I know, I did the dreaded get a book in the middle of the series thing! Someone please smack my damn wrist because I keep doing this and it’s driving me up the wall. It sounded good though, damn it all to hell, so I got it and of course it naturally has 4+ books in the series. Just. My. Luck.

So apparently they were giving out some free books at the book even where my mom and her friend Valerie went and so she got me two books.

They were both signed, however, one of the authors signed my mom’s name so I am assuming that something didn’t go right and this kind author just wrote the name from my mom’s name tag. Something must have gotten mixed up.

Here is what the author said: “Tracy, Look for the good in the stars.” – Victoria Perkins

So you see that would have been really cool if it would have been no name or my name but it has her name so I’m like what..? Anyway, it’s still fucking awesome that the author signed it, but damn. So close, yet so far…

Here is what the book looks like:

The Twelve (The Star Riders Book 1) by [Perkins, Victoria]

Isn’t the cover just beautiful and magnificent, I mean damn son. But then again I am a sucker for green and I love the detail of the wings, so they just got me here.

Second book from the book event:

Outpost 13 (Desolace Series) by [Barnes, Lucian]

This is not my fault that it is the third one in the series. I REPEAT: NOT MY FAULT. The first two books were gone. There were none left so I naturally got this one, no need to slap my wrist this time, I swear (obviously).

What the author signed into the book was badass: “In the shadows. Monsters Lurk. I am their master.” – Lucian Barnes

I mean, Damn. Damn.

There are only a few other authors I can think of at the top of my head who would say something similar but only most would know of The King.

Currently Reading: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I just started reading this about an hour ago and I’m already on pg.114. I can’t believe it is so good already. I bought the hardcover from my local Goodwill for $0.69 and I am so glad I did… because wow. I can’t even form logical sentences at this point.  Damn son.

I didn’t even realize that it is the first book in The Mara Dyer Trilogy until I looked it up to see if there would be more when I finish it. All I keep thinking is if the book is already this damn good at pg.114, how can it get any better? With more books, duh!

Anyway, I just had to share that, but now back to reading. 😉😂
